Year 6 Visits the National Gallery "Square 500"

Year 6, led by their class teacher Petya Zhivkova, visited the National Gallery "Square 500".
The next day, after speaking with the pupils, it was clear that the visit not only left a lasting impression but also gave them valuable knowledge about what they saw. The discussion, which they will present as homework in English, provided a historical overview of the development of Bulgarian painting — from Zahari Zograf to Ivan Mrkvička, his student Vladimir Dimitrov-Maistora, and the remarkable Zlatyu Boyadzhiev. Along the way, they also took note of some treasures in the gallery, including Franz von Stuck’s painting "Lucifer".
We’re excited to return and further deepen our understanding of both Bulgarian and world art!

Interdisciplinary connections and hands-on experiences not only broaden the children's horizons but also lead to deeper, more lasting knowledge across subjects.
