The topic of violence among young people

Yesterday at our high school, we held an assembly focused on an extremely important topic – violence among young people, its causes, and the appropriate ways to respond.

Our guest speaker was Dr. Maria Glushkova – a Doctor of Law and a Master of Pedagogy, part of the team at the “De Jure BG” organization – professionals including magistrates, lawyers, and educators with over 20 years of experience in protecting the rights of educational institutions and young people.

Their motto is clear and powerful: “Responsibility, legality, justice.”

This topic is significant because violence has no break time – it does not stay behind classroom doors and requires awareness, courage, and the right actions.

Students actively participated in the discussion, sharing personal observations, thoughts, and ideas on how to respond in situations involving bullying and aggression. Together, we explored questions such as:

Why do children bully other children?
What are the deeper causes behind aggression?
How can we be supportive witnesses rather than passive observers?
We believe that conversations on these topics help build a more aware, empathetic, and responsible student community.
